Jukka Aalho

Jukka Aalho

Jukka Aalho (born 7 December 1986) is a Finnish author, marketer, and science communicator based in Oulu. His works include Sivutieromaani (Basam Books, 2024) and the AI poetry trilogy Aum Golly (2021–2025). He has built his career in health tech marketing at companies such as Polar and Oura, and now consults early-stage startups. In 2020, he delivered a TEDx talk on hacking creativity.

Early life and education

Aalho earned an M.A. in English philology from the University of Oulu in 2012, complemented by studies in Finnish, Latin, Ancient Greek, and marketing. He also studied graphic design and journalism at Newcastle University in Australia and journalism at the Università di Bologna in Italy.

Career

Aalho began his career at the Oulu-based advertising agency Siberia in 2012.

Since 2015, he has worked in consumer health tech, including roles at Oura, Polar, and Vire Health. He consults health tech companies through Aalho Media.

Literary career

Aalho’s debut novel Sivutieromaani was published in 2024 by Basam Books. His poetry explores authorship and the creative process in the age of generative AI. He has also produced the Finnish‑language literature podcast Kertojan ääni.
